Just a Thought.

They say that great leaders listen to their people, so I am glad to know that Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi finally said that he knows about all criticism against him by some Malaysians. When he was in Port Dickson yesterday, he criticized his critics for being too critical. He went on to say that, he needs time before all his implementation on the economy will show some results. He told the Malaysians to believe in him and work with him so that the country will prosper in the future. And they also say that good citizens always criticize the government so, I am disturbed when an opposition MP asked in the parliament about the necessities of having a new palace for the King was considered as insulting the Royal Institution. I am not defending the MP’s action but surely as a good citizen, he has every right to ask that question especially when fellow taxpayers will pay the bill of the new palace. An insult to the Royal Institution would be like questioning the position and privileges

Maybe I'm Amazed.

Maybe I’m amazed at the way you love me all the time, Maybe I’m afraid of the way I love you, Maybe I’m amazed at the way you pulled me out of time Hung me on a line, Maybe I’m amazed at the way I really need you. Maybe I’m a man, maybe I’m a lonely man who’s in the middle of something, That he doesn’t really understand, Maybe I’m a man and maybe you’re the only woman, who could ever help me, Baby won’t you help me understand. Maybe I’m amazed at the way you’re with me all the time, Maybe I’m afraid of the way I leave you, Maybe I’m amazed at the way you help me sing my song You right me when I’m wrong, Maybe I’m amazed at the way I really need you. This beautiful song was written by Sir Paul McCartney to his late wife, Linda. I just love this song. I dedicate this song to those who are deeply in love and to those who never stop believing in true love. “In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” – Sir Paul McCartney.

Trials.

You tried so hard all your life not to be something and suddenly someone told you that you are in fact that thing. You told everyone that you don’t want to be that person and suddenly someone told you that you are in fact that person. That hurts. And it hurts at the deepest core of your heart, on which the foundation or yourself and character was built. It shakes the very cornerstone of your identity. And yes, it is painful. But, as painful as it is, life will just have to go on and that is basically what we all should do. It is going to be impossible to forget that single moment that breaks your entire self but life is just too short to live in just one moment. So once again, we shall get back on our feet hope we will not trip over the same stone twice. Sigh. “Or do ye think that ye shall enter the Garden (of bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those

Autumn.

And autumn is officially here at Wye. "Behold! in the creations of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the oceans for the profit of mankind; in the rain Allah sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they trail like their slaves between the skies and the earth; (here) indeed are signs for people that are wise." - Al-Baqarah, verse 164.

Pretentious Muslims.

Don’t you think Muslims today are just a bit pretentious? I do. I seriously think that the Muslims today are so afraid that they are not going to heaven and they will do anything to ensure their positions in heaven. Just look around us and you can definitely see that some Muslims are scared of their own shadows. They are afraid that ALLAH might not see their good deeds that they will do just anything to associate themselves with the religion. Example number one is from the controversial Danish cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). The whole Muslim world was so mad about the cartoon and I see no problem about being mad. But did we realize that more than half of those people who protested on the streets had never seen the cartoon? How can they be so mad about something that they personally had never seen? It’s like being mad and angry about something but not knowing the reason for that anger. Why were they acting like that? The answer is simple they just want to be

63rd Birthday.

Happy Birthday Abah! Any man can be a father, but it takes one special person to be a dad. I am glad that you are that special person. Thanks for everything and I love you so much. Second Baby??

I received a text this morning that our standard six friend, Wahieda is pregnant with her second child. OH MY GOD! Did I mention that they are now 21 years old? I still cannot believe it when she had her first daughter and now she is pregnant again. And now she’s going to have another one. Well, I can only wish them well. One day when I come back to Malaysia, I will surely want to pay them a visit. “The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.” – Bhagwan Shree Raineesh. Quoted from thinkexist.com .

Alfred Thompson Denning.

Somehow or rather, my business law lecturer seems to have a great affection for Lord Denning. There was never a lecture where she didn’t say Lord Denning’s name. According to her, Lord Denning was very popular wit his wit and commanding prose in his judgement. I’ve tried a few times reading some of Lord Denning’s judgement and seriously I found nothing fascinating about it. Perhaps I am not a law enthusiast, hence, my limited understanding about this man called Lord Denning. Apparently, according to Wikipedia, Lord Denning took a mathematics degree at Magdalen College, Oxford. He graduated with a first class degree before became a teacher at Winchester College (KYUEM was inspired by Winchester College). After that, he came back to Magdalen College to study law and again graduated with a first class degree. This man must be genius. I don’t want to go down on his legal career because I think Faisal should know than anyone else about Lord Denning. It is enough for me to know that this man

People.

I guess some people in Imperial College are not as civilised as they are supposed to be. Why did I say so? Well, here it goes. Last two weeks, a guy told me that he finds that eating with hand is disgusting. He came out with arguments about bacteria and germs on our hands and the fact that how messy and disgusting it is. I didn’t say anything to him because I have other better things to do than to argue with him about something that is so trivial. And when this guy saw the Malaysian flag in the dining hall, he pointed out to me about the striking similarity between Malaysian flag and American flag. I told him I don’t know about the history about the flag but I acknowledged the similarity that both flag shared, end of conversation. But then he went on to say, “I think Malaysians just love to suck up to the Americans and Malaysians just can’t create their own flag.” I explained to him that having the same flag designs with other countries are not uncommon because it reflects the history
