IC or UoL? What Say You?

Image
Or Beginning July 2007, Imperial College London will formally pull itself out of University of London. And since I am graduating in 2008, I will have until 31st May 2007 to choose whether to have my degree awarded by the University of London or Imperial College London. This should be an easy decision to make because the right choice is very obvious – Imperial College London – but apparently not so easy because it also make sense to choose University of London degree. I am now consulting your opinion as to what choice should I make. So, - put it in Hillary Clinton’s words – let the conversation begins! Ha-Ha. “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius.

Mourning

The O.C. officially ended last night. Personally, I feel sad that the show has to end in a very abrupt manner. Although I am glad that it is now over, I still feel that The O.C. should be given a chance to finish up the entire season four. But hey, I am no FOX, so I really cannot say anything can I? I’ll leave you with the most memorable quote in the show, “Welcome to O.C. b****h!” Ha-Ha. “I wish there was a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence. There’s a knob called ‘brightness’ but that doesn’t work.” – Anonymous.

For Your Information

There are just too many pretentious Muslims in Malaysia right now. I received an email saying that the latest advertisement by DIGI advocates Christianity. It seems that the song played in the advertisement was one of the songs sung by Christian choir. Since I am in the UK, and have no access to Malaysian television, I looked up the advertisement in YouTube and I found the advertisement and watched it. Honestly, I found the advertisement quite creepy because it shows a yellow thing following you wherever you go. The message is to show that DIGI network coverage are expanding and will follow its customers wherever they go. It is amusing but in a creepy kind of way. And the background music was indeed a remake of a song called I Will Follow Him. Then I tried to find the connection between the song and Christianity, and all I could find is a clip from film Sister Act which shows the scene where Whoopi Goldberg and her colleagues singing I Will Follow Him to the Pope. OK, first of all, the

Happy Chinese New Year!

I was surfing through the internet yesterday and found this one interesting comment about Hillary Clinton running for presidency in 2008. This particular person said that it would be awkward when Madam President Clinton visits Asia, Africa or Middle East because in women are regarded as property in those regions. And I really want to ask this person, if women are regarded as property in those places, why the hell that we see countries like Indonesia, the Philippines, having women as their President? There are also other countries like Pakistan and Sri Lanka that had women as their Prime Minister. Having said that, a friend asked me about the chances of Clinton becoming the first woman President and I said, not a chance. And then my friend asked me whether Clinton is not qualified to become a President. To that question, I said, “Since when a politician is elected because of they are qualified? This is just another popularity contest. It is either you are popular or you are not.” And he

Malaysia Ter-Chinta

It is amazing to see how sometimes we tend to forget how great our country really is. I was talking with a couple of my friends last week in Business Law lecture when one the topic of corruption popped out. A friend of mine asked me about the problem of corruption in Malaysia and I said, “I think my country is very corrupted.” To my surprise, he actually disagreed with me. He told me that the situation cannot be worse than Nigeria. Well, to be fair, it does not make any sense to compare Malaysia and Nigeria because that will be like comparing the UK and Fiji. The point is if we were to compare Malaysia and Singapore, we can clearly see how corrupted Malaysia is. But then again, that is also unfair to Malaysia because Malaysia does not have a political dynasty like Singapore (Malaysia is about to have one, if you know what I mean). To put it in my Singaporean friend’s words, the you-know-who family technically owned the country. I am just rambling here, back to my first sentence, all I

UCL Malaysia Night

Waktu terasa semakin berlalu, Tinggalkan cerita tentang kita, Akan tiada lagi kini tawamu, Tuk hapuskan semua sepi di hati, Teringat di saat kita tertawa bersama, Ceritakan semua tentang kita, Ada cerita tentang aku dan dia, Dan kita bersama saat dulu kala, Ada cerita tentang masa yang indah, Saat kita berduka saat kita tertawa. When I came back from London yesterday, I couldn’t help to feel how I miss the good old days and when I listened to ‘Semua Tentang Kita’ by Peter Pan this morning, all those memories kept coming back to me. Sometimes, it is worth it for us to just take a break and just have a good time with our friends. After spending most of my time in front of my laptop writing the longest essay that I have ever written in my life, the short trip to London last weekend was really worth it. It is nice to see all of my friends again after not seeing them for such a long time. And the highlight of my trip was when I met my former form three classmate after not seeing him for s
