What's in a name?

Do you believe in destiny? I know I do. Did you know that the name of the judge who presided over the failed Da Vinci Code plagiarism case at London’s High Court is Mr. Justice Smith? WOW! He must have been destined to be a judge since born. Now that’s what I call destiny. Another thing about Mr. Smith is that in his 71-page judgement report, he included some random italicised letters, which were described as ‘Smithy Code’. Here are the letters:-      “ smithycodeJaeiextostgpsacgreamqwfkadpmqzvin” Do you think you can crack the code? Mr. Smith was reported saying that he will confirm the code when someone has broken it. He was also quoted by the BBC saying, "I can't discuss the judgement, but I don't see why a judgement should not be a matter of fun." What a cool judge! Haha. Ciao. SOURCE: BBC

Journey to the West.

So, what was so great about my journey from Kuala Lumpur to Gatwick that I want to share with you? Well, let me tell you that I will recommend Qatar Airways to you if you want to travel cheaply but getting an expensive treat. Qatar Airways proved to be very good in providing in-flight services which fits their five-star rank, but that’s it. When you combine that with their ground staff efficiencies, I would say that Qatar Airways did not deserve the five-star rank. Don’t get me wrong when I say they are not a five-star material because they are but only limited to inside the aircraft. What does that mean? That means the flight attendants were very friendly and helpful. And the food was great because I just love mealtime and the in-flight entertainment wasn’t bad at all. Bottom line is, I had a very enjoyable flight with Qatar Airways, and I am sure you will too. But it was the ground experiences that tip the scale off to the bad side. First of all, my flight from Kuala Lumpur was delay

Welcome Back.

I am now back in Wye, a peaceful village in the south east of England. After almost 24 hours journey, all I really need now is a very good sleep. I had some great and bad experiences during my flight back to UK and I will share those experiences later since I want to continue with my sleep after this. So, to all my friends, hope you guys have a very good start for the new summer term. Good luck for the upcoming exams! Ciao. At 9 o’clock in the morning today while I was in Gatwick Airport, I received a short sms from Faeezah telling me that Tun Ghafar Baba had passed away. Tun Ghafar Baba was Malaysia’s fifth deputy prime minister. AL-FATIHAH.

Selamat Tinggal Kuala Lumpur. sigh.

Last September, I spent my last night in Malaysia at NZ Curry House in Wangsa Maju with Hazman, Aman and Hafiz Mulok. Tonight, I spent my time with my family. All of my family except my sister because she is in Port Dickson. No we didn’t go to NZ Curry House, but we went to Damansara Uptown to eat my favourite food which is Fried Tang Hong. Gosh, I miss Fried Tang Hong. And we had a great time there. Sigh. Anyway, this will be my last entry in Malaysia before I pack up and head for London tomorrow. So, what have I gathered for a month in Malaysia? Well, for starters, the government is becoming more and more stupid each day with even more stupid policies. The members of parliament have once again proved that their intelligence is comparable to chimpanzees. And oh yeah, Malaysians are not that bad in stupidity level since they worship this new singer named Mawi. I use the word worship because they literally worship Mawi, well not all but some of them do. What else? Well, not all are bad

Summer-Trip 2006

My friend Mukhriz and I are planning to go to Padang, Indonesia in August. We have not set the date yet but it will definitely be somewhere in August since Mukhriz is coming back from Detroit by late July. The cost for the holiday would be somewhere around RM500-RM700 per person for a seven-day-trip. I am not really sure what do they have there in Padang but my dad told me that Padang itself is a small city by the sea which means they should have a decent beaches and Padang is very near to a place called Bukit Tinggi. Bukit Tinggi is more like Cameron Highland type of destination. My dad said that Padang and Bukit Tinggi are rich in history hence both places will have lots of historical places to visit. And the reason why am I telling you this is I would like to invite you to join Mukhriz and I for our summer trip in Padang (If you are interested). I know that lots of you have other more interesting places to visit like Melbourne, Phuket, Sydney, Egypt or whatever, but I just thought P

It's True.

I once asked my Maths tutor Harry, “What is life?” and he casually answered, “The answer to that question depends on what kind of answer do you want to hear.” To a certain extent, what he said was true. More often than not, whenever someone asked that question, they already know what kind of answer to expect and when they did not get the answer that they want, they will argue until they get the exact words that they want to hear. And that my friend, is life. So why in a sudden I am writing about something that is so philosophical? Probably after spending more than three weeks in Malaysia, I began to see things that I did not get to see before. I began to see there are a lot of things in my life that I have overlooked and made me question the purpose of my life. I began to question the path that I took years before and began to ponder how will it end should I continue on the same path. I began to wonder whether I should change to a new path altogether and the grass might just be greener

How to do this and that.

What do you want to learn today? Well, why don’t you check out this website Howstuffworks.com . My friend told me about this website and convinced me that you can type anything and the website will tell you how stuff works. So, I google this website and spent 2 hours learning how Compact Disc works. Yesterday, I spent another hour learning how cellular phone works. Haha. What a great way to waste my time. Well, waste is not an appropriate term because I actually learned something from it. Go ahead and try this website. Overall the website is good except it has too many advertisements. The advertisements are everywhere and it is really annoying. But I guess that’s the price that you have to pay to get a very good free-information. Ciao.

I won a lottery!!!

I just want to inform you that I’ve just won a 1 million pound cash prize. WOW! This is so good to be true. Suddenly I am the richest student in my university. Now, what would I do with the money? I could put all of them in a fixed deposit account and earn a LOT of interest. Or I could spend on a Maserati or Lamborghini or maybe a Ferrari. And you know what, with that amount of money, if I put it into a fixed deposit account, I don’t have to work for life. I’d be better off quit university and enjoy life as much as possible. GOSH, what a life! Snap back into reality Adam. Well, the email that I got informing me that I had won a 1 million lottery is in fact a hoax. It is illogical enough to see that I won a lottery that I had never bought in the first place. But come to think of it, it is nice to sit back and dream of things that could’ve happen. Sigh. Haha. Dream is good, but dream without work is a waste. So, let us work…I mean, study hard get a decent job and have a wonderful life :P

This Just In.

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced that Malaysia will not build a new bridge to replace the Johor Causeway. There is only one word to describe this decision – stupid. Why don’t they want to build this new bridge? Were Malaysian Government pressured by the Singaporean Government? I mean, the Malaysian Government has built a new custom and immigration complex to accommodate the new bridge. And now with the complex almost ready, the bridge is will not be built. What will happen to the new complex then? Will it be turned into a new shopping mall? I have nothing against the Singaporean Government because they have every right to object to the construction of the new bridge. But Malaysia also has every right to build a new bridge on Malaysia’s water. I am just so disappointed with this decision. I hope the government will have a very good explanation for this. According to BERNAMA, "The government's decision was made after taking into account the voi

Goodbye Bali.

MH 714 from Ngurah Rai International Airport touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at exactly 4.15 p.m. yesterday. Which means, my 4 days holiday in Bali, Indonesia is over and as you might already know, when holiday is over you have to start to work. As for me, I still have two essays and tonnes of revision to do which I will start as soon as I am done with this entry. So, the most popular question people would ask after every excursion would be “How was the holiday?” Well, I would say Bali is a very nice place to visit because Balinese are very friendly and make you feel at home instantly. Another thing about Bali is the atmosphere there is very calm and peace. It seems like the Balinese is having a problem-free life. Ok, that is a little bit over the top but if you were there you would understand. And Bali is like a Vatican for Hindus because the presence of that religion is very strong. Hindu temples are everywhere, I mean if you were to throw a stone in Bali, the ston

Off to Bali.

Tomorrow I will be flying off to Bali, Indonesia. For some strange reasons I am not really looking forward for this trip. I mean, I am not really excited about this trip. Don’t ask me why because I myself cannot answer that question. But I just hope I will really enjoy my time there. I will continue to update this blog more regularly after I came back from Bali. Just for the sake of holiday spirits, I’ll just say, “Bali, here I come!” Ciao.

TFKL: Transport for KL.

In my last post, I mentioned that Kuala Lumpur’s public transport system is improving. Today, I will tell you a bit more on the new system. First of all, for those of you, who used to live in KL, will notice that the bus number has changed. In my area, no more buses with number 14, 41 and 348 which will take me straight to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Secondly, you will notice that all new buses now not only come with numbers, but also colours. Yes, you heard me right, all buses are now colour coded according to their routes. These colours are red, blue and green. Now let explain what those colours mean. Green is local line buses, which means they only operate in residential area such as my place. This bus will go around your neighbourhood and will not take you to the city because they just don’t. You can hop in the green buses from the bus stop in front of your house and it will take you as far as to the main bus stop. At the main bus stop, you will have to take the blue buses. Blue is
