23

I went to have lunch with a friend of mine who is currently working at Menara Maxis yesterday. He paid for the lunch. As I watched him paying for our meal, I realised that he is paying with the money that he earned. And it hit me that I am soon going to be just like him. I’ll be working in a month’s time and I would do the same. As at 3.21 in the morning today, I am 23 years old. I cannot believe that I am now 23 years old. I have completed my degree with a result that I never thought I could get. I have my first scooter. I have friends who are already working from 9 to 5 every single day. I have friends who are already married, some of them even have kids of their own. I guess, I am slowly but surely becoming an adult. And adult who will be responsible in making my own decision. I always ask my friends what have they accomplished on their birthday and now I am going to ask myself the same question. At least I have accomplished my academic goals – for now. It is now the time to start t...

Au Revoir.

“Another summer day, Has come and gone away, In Paris and London, But I want to go home.” This would effectively be my last entry written while I am still in the UK. And by the time you read this, hopefully I would be onboard MH0001 to Kuala Lumpur. For the next thirteen hours, I will be thinking about my new life – life after university. “May be surrounded by a million people, I still feel all alone, I just want to go home, I miss you, you know.” I still in a state of disbelief thinking that I have finally finished my formal education years. I mean, I can still continue to study Masters in the future, but as for now, I’m going to stop here and get a taste of working life. My friends who have started working warned me that working life sucks, so, I guess I’ll get to see how sucks it is in the next few months. “Another aeroplane, Another sunny place, I’m lucky I know, But I want to go home.” But to be honest, I am actually looking forward to work. Probably because it would be a new thin...

Happy Fathers' Day!

I would like to wish a very happy Fathers’ Day to all fathers all over the world. And of course I would also like to wish Happy Fathers’ Day to my DAD who is at home now or out celebrating the day with my brother and my sister-in-law. Also the same wish goes to my brother (a father to a son and a daughter) and my brother-in-law (a father to two daughters and a son). I hope they all are having a very good time in Malaysia today. Special thanks to my Dad for always there to support me throughout my entire life. I haven’t said enough, I do love you. And I cannot wait to fly home to Malaysia in two weeks’ time to see you and of course the rest of the family. Once again, Happy Fathers’ Day to all!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I know that I said that I want to stop blogging for a while until my exam is over but I can make a few exceptions for a special day like today. 38 years ago on this day, if not because of the infamous racial riot, my mum and dad would have gotten married then. But, they ended up getting married exactly a month after that. And exactly 2 years and 4 days later, my mum became a mother when my brother was born. And in July 1998, my mum became a mother-in-law when my brother married my sister-in-law. Unfortunately, she did not get the chance to see the birth of her first grandson, her daughter’s wedding, and her first granddaughter when she passed away in May 1999. Therefore, on today’s Mother’s Day, I want to pay tribute to her for being the best mom in the world. I miss her terribly at times but I know there is nothing else I can do except keep on praying for her. If only she was standing next to me right now, I would hug her and say, “Happy Mother’s Day” but since she is not, I’m just go...

63rd Birthday.

Happy Birthday Abah! Any man can be a father, but it takes one special person to be a dad. I am glad that you are that special person. Thanks for everything and I love you so much. Goodbye Kuala Lumpur.

This will be my last post before I head back to the UK. I must say that this has been a great holiday for me in comparison with the last Spring Holiday. To be fair, the Spring Holiday lasts for only a month while Summer Holiday lasts for three months. Now, I’d like to make a few thank you note to all the people whom I had been in touch with throughout the holiday. First of all, thank you to Awie, Ablanc and Hazman for our great bowling games in Midvalley a day after I arrived from London. I really had fun playing with you guys and of course the KFC trip after that using free KFC voucher courtesy of Hazman. We played until our fingers went numb and Awie was the player of the day when he scored ‘turkey’ twice. Then, we had three opportunities to guess which team will win the World Cup. Sadly, we didn’t guess for the right team. If not, we would’ve won a lot of prizes by now. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed my time with you all. Thanks. Next in line would be Affan, Syafiq and Mukhriz. I th...

Off to Penang!

Image
I am going to Penang tomorrow with my family for one last vacation before I head back to the UK. Instead of feeling happy, I feel a bit sad because this vacation seems like a farewell vacation to me. I know that this is not really a goodbye forever because I will be seeing them again in June next year. Still, it is sad when it comes to leaving your family behind for a very long time. But then again, nine months are not that long if you think about it. I mean, the last nine months went so quickly that I didn’t even realize it was already time for me to go home. Or is it because I came back to Malaysia during the last Spring break made me feel that the last nine months were very short. Either way, I will keep telling myself that nine months aren’t that long. Ha-ha. So, I will go to Penang tomorrow and try to forget the fact that I’m leaving by the end of next week. Sigh On a happier note, this is my chocolate cake. I’m ready to 'buka kedai'! Ha-ha. "It's not that I'm...
